not grasped in first contact - it takes a long time. You tell me that what little you have has already helped you a little and you (sometimes at least) feel a little happier and more useful to your family. This is the goal of all Yurok teaching.

There is so much of the Yurok Law to learn, and so much of the relationship of the people to the land and the forests and the fish and the understanding (or lacking that, the acceptance) of the unity of the Yurok world. It will take a long time to learn.
It doesn’t help that you have so far to come. And that your time is so limited.
