religious observances. It was a condition which Indians feel Whites never
respected sufficiently. The things that he knew, that he had to perform..
.It’s not for everyone, you know, like when you are praying, you don’t
just pray in front of strangers.. .All of this is kept sacred because
you are speaking to your maker.. .You need to be alone while you are praying. Here not so many years ago.. .the people that gave these dances resented anyone taking pictures. You just didn’t allow that.. .who knows what you are going to do with the pictures. ..This is supposed to be a religious, sacred dance, sacred songs and everything.. .It is supposed to be kept so pure. There was resentment against Whites on this subject. |
